BR-HR racks are provided with 19" rack punched mounting points in the side return flanges, front & rear to allow mounting of shelves & other accessories.

Basic chassis information

The BR146 & BR148 Rack Chassis is also available in a 'half rack'width . This is particularly useful for accommodating PC Towers, allowing the tower to stand next to a full 19" rack fitted with rack mount items that may need to be close to the PC tower for technical reasons, with cabling between the two via the side apertures. This allows the full width rack to be used for equipment with the minimum of wasted space.

In many applications 'BR' Racks are fitted under worktops & they have a cut out in the top to allow control panels ect. to be sunk into the worktop surface if required. When used in a 'stand-alone' application a separate top panel option is available which may be mounted directly onto the rack chassis or raised 20mm on spacers to provide extra ventilation.

BR chassis may be fitted with tinted toughened glass doors, front & rear. These doors are inset into the chassis frame & will therefore require rack strips to be inset slightly back from the face of the rack. Glass doors are lockable but may also be securely latched shut without need for a key.

BR Racks may be mounted on castors (supplied as standard on all BRHS units). Castors are supplied with mounting plates to increase the load bearing capacity of the rack base.

BR146HR Half width Racks can be used alongside full width BR racks to house computer towers or fitted with a 19" adaptor frame, which will allow the vertical mounting of up to 5RU of standard 19" equipment.

This can be useful when a PC tower needs to be accommodated alongside extra drives or a breakout box & other ancillaries that come in standard 19" chassis.

BRM options & accessories

BRM racks are often fitted side by side &⁄or under shelves & cable entry slots are therefore provided on the top & sides (as well as underneath). When BRM racks are used in 'Stand Alone' applications these cable entry slots can be fitted with vent grills & blanking plugs.
